TNABC Miami's Eighth Annual Conference Goes Virtual, Event Underscores Technology's Important Role

On January 28-29, 2021, The North American Bitcoin Conference (TNABC) is preparing to kick off its eighth exhibition with another cryptocurrency and blockchain-focused event. The event organizers have lined up more speakers than ever, as this year’s TNABC is going to be 100% virtual due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. TNABC’s creators say that this year has truly shown us all “how resilient a global crypto economy can be.”

The North American Bitcoin Conference is coming back full throttle this year, as organizers say the team has curated a line-up of some of the biggest names in the crypto and blockchain industry. This year’s TNABC will be the event’s eighth annual conference, but the Covid-19 pandemic has made it so 2021’s TNABC will be hosted online. The hardships have been difficult this year, but there’s still a great need to press on in order to spread the benefits of these extraordinary technologies far and wide.

“With cryptocurrencies reaching all-time highs, it’s our responsibility to share knowledge and make sense of the ever-changing global landscape,” the 2021 TNABC website notes. During the last seven years, The North American Bitcoin Conference has hosted a wide range of speakers from crypto company executives, venture capitalists, blockchain developers, and the movers and shakers making things happen in the blockchain space.

Well known crypto and blockchain evangelists speaking at this year’s TNABC include Bitcoin.com’s founder Roger Ver, IOHK founder Charles Hoskinson, Monero core developer Riccardo Spagni, Polymath CEO Trevor Koverko, OB1 CEO Brian Hoffman, blockchain entrepreneur Brock Pierce, Freeross.org founder and political activist Lyn Ulbricht, Edge founder and CEO Paul Puey, Binary Financial’s Harry Yeh, Bloq chairman and cofounder Matthew Roszak, and Bitwage founder and CEO Jonathan Chester.

This week, TNABC host and Keynote founder and CEO, Moe Levin, discussed the upcoming virtual conference with news.Bitcoin.com. “The fact that we are all able to join this event, many at short notice, from all over the globe, most if not all of our plans made from our phones, shows me how rapidly our world has changed in recent years and what an important role technology now plays in our lives,” Levin said. “It also shows me how ready the world is for a new technology that is as international and as mobile and as easy as the rest of the technology in our lives.”

The TNABC host and Keynote founder added:

It shows me that it’s time to move forward with blockchain and cryptocurrencies and give the world a technology befitting of our current age. And thanks to the great reception we’re seeing online, it shows me that others feel the same way.

TNABC organizers also detailed that even though participants can’t have a drink together in Miami, the event will still host online networking. In addition to keynote speakers, the conference will also focus on debates between global change-makers, thought leaders, and industry insiders.

News.Bitcoin.com readers can obtain tickets to TNABC 2021 here and after acquiring a pass, participants will get a unique join code and link to register on the event platform on January 25-26, 2021. TNABC organizers have also created a comprehensive guide and what to expect at this year’s conference.

Bitcoin.com Wallet Adds Shareable Payment Link Feature – Send Bitcoin Cash to Anyone via Text, Email, and Social Media

10/12/2020 by Idelto Editor

At Bitcoin.com, our team is all about spreading the benefits of peer-to-peer electronic cash and our flagship wallet is a testament to our team’s passion. Bitcoin.com’s noncustodial crypto wallet recently upgraded and now offers a new payment link feature that allows anyone to send bitcoin cash by email, and even social apps like Whatsapp, Facebook, Slack, Telegram, and Instagram.

Just recently the Bitcoin.com Wallet added a number of new features in the latest 6.10.3 version release. The Bitcoin.com Wallet is a noncustodial bitcoin cash (BCH) and bitcoin (BTC) client that also allows users to store SLP-based tether USDT stablecoins, and Simple Ledger Protocol tokens as well.

In the latest edition of the Bitcoin.com Wallet, our software development team has made it much easier to send transactions in a few different ways. On November 24, the BCH proponent David Bond (@hellodavidbond) tweeted about the Bitcoin.com Wallet’s new “Send Anywhere” feature.

“The Bitcoin.com Wallet now allows you to send [bitcoin cash] the same way you’d share a link, or meme. This is awesome,” Bond tweeted.

After depositing $2 worth of bitcoin cash into the wallet, I simply pressed send and the client allows you to choose the “shareable link” feature.

With the new Send Anywhere feature from the Bitcoin.com Wallet, sending BCH gifts during Christmas or during the Chinese New Year has never been easier. In order to leverage the new Send Anywhere feature, Bitcoin.com Wallet users need to upgrade to the latest 6.10.3 client version.

After depositing some funds into the BCH wallet, simply press “send” to create and send a shareable link. In addition to sending to any BCH wallet by scanning a QR code or sending to one of your own BCH wallets, the client offers a choice called: “shareable link.”

After selecting the shareable link feature, I simply pressed send all and continue and the wallet creates the URL link which can be shared with anyone and anywhere.

Following pressing the “shareable link” tab, the wallet directs you to the page where you enter the amount of bitcoin cash you want to send. With my test wallet containing $2 in bitcoin cash (BCH), I simply pressed “send all,” and pressed “continue” to finalize the transaction. After pressing “continue,” the Bitcoin.com Wallet will create a URL link with the bitcoin cash that can be sent using nearly any application on the web.

You can send the shareable link via text message, email, Twitter, Facebook, Whatsapp, Slack, Telegram, and basically anywhere you can share a link. Now, remember, you probably want to send the link privately, rather than sharing it in public, as anyone with access to the link can scan the funds.

The wallet allows you to interact with the various methods of sending whether it be on Telegram, email, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, SMS text, and other online web portals and messaging apps.

After the creation of my $2 BCH payment link, the Bitcoin.com Wallet gave me a choice to send it via a myriad of applications on my device. Since this was only a test, I sent the bitcoin cash to myself via SMS text message, and instantly received the shareable link.

This is an example of the payment link that I sent to myself as an experiment via text message. In order for someone to access the funds, they simply need to scan the QR code using their Bitcoin.com Wallet. Of course, the link shown in this screenshot has been used when I finished this test.

Opening up my Bitcoin.com Wallet version 6.10.3, I selected the little scan QR icon on the top right-hand side of the application, which is located next to the notifications bell icon. I simply scanned the payment link’s QR code, and my $2 worth of bitcoin cash (BCH) was instantly added to my wallet.

Another cool thing about the Bitcoin.com Wallet’s Send Anywhere feature is that if the recipient does not deposit the funds, the user can simply reclaim the bitcoin cash any time they want.

The latest wallet version still gives users the ability to safely store multiple crypto assets including BCH and BTC, offers a portfolio breakdown, the ability to hold stablecoins, and the capacity to purchase and swap coins in a matter of minutes as well. With our secure and super fast Bitcoin.com Wallet, the latest Send Anywhere feature makes sending cryptocurrency to anyone worldwide extremely easy.

Bitcoin.com Exchange Reveals Role in the Cryptopia Rescue Group

Bitcoin.com Exchange Reveals Role in the Cryptopia Rescue Group

The world-class trading platform, Bitcoin.com Exchange announced it’s participating in the Cryptopia Exchange rescue consortium in order to help redistribute coins to customers. Bitcoin.com’s trading platform will provide an exchange environment in order to bolster the Cryptopia Rescue redistribution plan.

Back in January 2019, the New Zealand cryptocurrency trading platform Cryptopia Exchange suffered a major breach and it affected 2.3 million account holders from all around the world. Estimates note that roughly $860 million worth of cryptocurrency was held on the exchange before the hack. Bitcoin.com is pleased to announce that our exchange will assist a rescue program dedicated to helping Cryptopia account holders.

Bitcoin.com Exchange Reveals Role in the Cryptopia Rescue Group

Bitcoin.com Exchange has joined a consortium called the “Cryptopia Rescue” program, and it will produce a platform to distribute coins to Cryptopia Exchange Account Holders. The group formed in order to create a class action against the Liquidator, Grant Thornton.

Victor Cattermole, a Cryptopia Rescue spokesperson said:

The liquidator was proposing to write off more than 50% of the coin holdings. In our alternative plan, we have established a relationship with Bitcoin.com to provide an exchange environment to emulate the Cryptopia model so that all coins can be redistributed.

Currently, the Cryptopia Rescue team is working to connect with as many account holders as possible. The plan is to do everything possible to provide the best resolution to Cryptopia’s former customers. Since launching on September 2, 2019, the premier Bitcoin.com Exchange has provided customers with a professional trading engine combined with top-of-the-line security practices.

Speaking about joining the Cryptopia Rescue effort, Danish Chaudhry, CEO of Bitcoin.com Exchange explained the exchange team looks forward to helping the crypto community.

“We take this role very seriously within the consortium,” Chaudhry stressed. “[Bitcoin.com Exchange] will do everything we can as a united group to provide the best-in-class platform to redistribute Cryptopia account holders their coins via our exchange,” he added.

There are five limitations Cryptopia Exchange Account Holders need to take into account.

  • The Cryptopia trustee is independent of Bitcoin.com Exchange.
  • Claim information is stored only on the trustee’s servers, not on Bitcoin.com Exchange’s servers.
  • Claim information is private between clients and the trustee.
  • Bitcoin.com Exchange is not involved in approving or denying claims.
  • Bitcoin.com Exchange does not determine when claims are distributed.

When the Cryptopia Exchange trustee completes the claim approval process and selects a distribution date, a provided payout support plan for distribution may be added. Customers that have any questions or issues with the Cryptopia claim process will need to contact Cryptopia support.

What do you think about the Bitcoin.com Exchange providing support to Cryptopia account holders? Let us know what you think about this subject in the comments section below.
